The
Park travelled to Driffield in the 1st round of the Readman
Trophy and a mixture of 1st and 2nd XI players and
2 youngsters performed admirably against relatively strong opposition.
The Park batted first and scored 107-9 in 20 overs with Sam Medley (25),
Mark Tissiman (24) and Charlie Rook (19) being the main contributors.
In reply openers Andy Innes and Chapman steered the hosts towards
victory but Yogi Youngman with 3 wickets ensured that the contest was
not one sided. Skipper Rook was pleased with the performance despite
tasting defeat by 5 wickets.
The
Park’s pavilion extension will be officially opened on Saturday 14th
June. A junior match will take place from 1.30pm together with other
cricket related entertainment and a hog roast lunch. Tickets are limited
and are available from George Drewery 01430 873877, Steve Dodd 01430
871768 or Ian Hodson 01430 871929, priced at £10 and £5 for juniors.
The
club was saddened to learn of the death of Ray Urwin after a long
