The Pryers sponsored second XI was also matched up against Carlton
Towers and similarly dominated the fixture to record a handsome
victory.
The Park were invited to bat first and, despite the loss of two
early wickets, posted an impressive total of 264 for 8. The innings
was dominated by a superb knock from Damien Sharp who contributed
exactly half of the Park’s total with 132. He gained solid support
from Tom Medley in a third wicket partnership of 113 along with
Steve Dawson Dick Salmon and Tom Eagling.
The Carlton response was kept in check by good opening spells from
Dazzler Moody and Dan ‘the man’ Howard. The change bowlers of Tom
Eagling, skipper Steve Mudd and James Beevers continued the good
work and with opposition skipper Boddye unable to bat due to injury
the Park recorded a comfortable victory by 148 runs.
