Match Report

Londesborough Park II v Tadcaster Magnet II

Pryers Sollicitors sponsored Londesborough II won the toss and invited Tadcaster  to bat. Darren Moody and Dan Howard began extremely well as they restricted Tadcaster to 9 runs from the first 10 overs. Dan Howard opened with five consecutive maidens, the fourth of which brought Londesborough's first success when Michael Drewery dived forward to take an excellent catch at gully with the score on 9. Londesborough's next wicket came when Michael again dived to his right and hung on to another very sharp chance, also at gully, but this time off the bowling of Darren Moody. Yogi Youngman replaced Dan but the stranglehold was maintained. Yogi claimed Tadcaster's 3rd wicket assisted by a catch by Darren Moody as Tadcaster struggled to 102 for 3 in the 38th over before a heavy rain shower caused an early tea to be taken. A delayed start meant 5 overs were deducted from the Tadcaster innings who tried to make their total respectable but were only able to reach 127 for 3 at the close.

Londesborough's reply began well with Tom Medley looking in good nick and reaching 20 before he departed with the score on 34. Dick Salmon joined Michael Drewery in the middle and this pair saw Londesborough to their target with an unbroken partnership of 94. The winning runs came with both batsmen just short of their half-centuries with Michael on 46 and Dick on 45. After two games each, both Londesborough senior teams sit comfortably in their respective divisions with 100% records.

Tadcaster Magnet II: 127 for 3 (Darren Moody 12-2-27-1, Dan Howard 8-6-15-1, Paul Youngman 12-2-27-1, Steve Mudd 8-0-46-0)

Londesborough Park II: 128 for 1 (Michael Drewery 46 not out, Dick Salmon 45 not out, Tom Medley 20)
