Match Report

Londesborough Park's senior teams experienced differing fortunes 2 weeks ago.

The 1st XI entertained Heworth and were put to the sword by opening batsman Ian Lynch who amassed 142 during his near 3 hour occupation of the crease.  The visitors posted 65 before Tom Eagling intervened and Mark Tissiman produced a solid spell of 4-53 from 16 overs to prevent a complete rout.  Skipper Charlie Rook would have been pleased with his one over contribution which yielded 2 wickets at the death.

Faced with a target of 236, The Park's reply lacked impetus from start to finish as wickets fell with disappointing regularity.  Only Ian Hodson (30) and Pilot Nettleton (24) managed to offer significant resistance as Bell and Forsdike, supported by their team mates who took 9 catches in all, shared 7 wickets.  Tom Eagling plundered several boundaries to finish unbeaten on 20 but the visitors proved too strong, running out victors by 96 runs.  The match ball was kindly sponsored by Henleys Nurseries.

Heworth 235-7 (I Lynch 142, J Leaming 37, M Tissiman 4-53 Londesborough Park 1st XI 139 (I Hodson 30, M Bell 4-50, T Forsdike 3-32)
