The weather was equally as
miserable at Londesborough where the 2nd XI played hosts to
Civil Service. A delayed start reduced the match to a 40 over contest
and skipper Jonathan Croft decided to field on winning the toss. Rob
Sawyer made an early inroad courtesy of Michael Drewery's catch before a
second wicket partnership of 35 took the score to 50. Yogi Youngman and
Sawyer combined to dismiss Phelps for 17 and two wickets for youngster
Greg Drewery gave the Park the upper hand before the umpires brought
proceedings to halt after 25 overs and the players tucked in to a rather
substantial tea. After a further hour watching the rain the skippers
decided enough was enough and the game was abandoned.
Thanks to match ball sponsor A E
Purdy Ltd. This week the 2nds pop down the road for a local derby
against Pocklington 2nds, hopefully in conditions more conducive to
cricket.
Civil Service 84-4 (N Olney 33,
G Drewery 2-25) match abandoned.
After 3 games the Park's Foss

Retreat. Londesborough scored 112-4 courtesy of the Pilot with 42 and
Michael Drewery with 33. The Retreat were restricted to 95-7 in
