The 2nd XI played Welton & Brough 2nd
for the second time in 3 weeks and duly elected to bowl, hoping for a
similar outcome to the previous fixture.
Dazzler Moody returned to the fold and soon had the opposition in
trouble, removing 3 of the top 4 with only 26 on the board. Youngster
Tom Noble carried on the good work with 2 wickets and ever dependent
Robbie Sawyer made inroads into the lower order as only ex Parker Shaun
Wilson (23) offered any worthwhile resistance. Dazzler took his tally
to 5 as the visitors crawled their way to an all out total of 86 in
43.3 overs.
The
Park's response received an early blow when Greg Drewery's partnership
with brother Michael failed to materialize. However Tom Williamson took
up the challenge and he and Michael eased the Park to within 8 runs of
victory before Tom was trapped LBW for 38. Tom Sowersby made a brief
appearance before Drewery (41 no) and Steve Dawson secured the 30 points
without further alarm inside 16 overs.
The
match ball was kindly sponsored by the Pet Shop and the 2nd
XI go in search of back to back victories at Cawood on Saturday.
