Key Points from Members Sept. Meeting 2011

 

1. Balance discussed

2. Dinner Review – excellent work by those involved who made for a great evening for the 65 attendees.

    Consideration to be given to holding the event towards end of Sept. Review also format of evening

     i.e Value of Disco, Type of meal. Expressed interest in purchasing own cutlery & crockery etc. to offset current high cost of  hiring.- Anyone know of any such available – 2nd hand or new advise Sec.

3. Race Night Review – again date to be changed & consider change of format for evening.

4. Promotion of all fund raising events discussed – separate poster identifying planned events to be strategically displayed at gate entrance  &   reflected same in Fixt. Card.  Keeping details of rep. cricket separate. Overview was to develop/maximise current events not create more. Ideas please to Sec.

5. E –Mail Addresses  Challenge to involve parents of juniors on going.   Sec to request e mail addresses of same so to improve communications where poss.

6. Autumn Newsletter to be drawn up if “Netty” has time after his announcement of engagement

7. Autumn Ground work – major investment in playing square including –spraying worm casts+ 75kg of new grass seed +deep drilling holes  to 8”depth + a covering of Ongar  loam -140 bags – est. total cost of process £2,000.

Your Square now has 73,920 holes in it!!

8. Umpires for 2012 – advertise for volunteers –(any volunteers ?)–  great work by those who currently stand –some times at both ends  –  pool umpires for 1st X1 cost £816 or £37 per game this season.

9.  Coaches Meeting   - to be held early Oct.-   U.11s Coach still required for 2012

10. Xmas Draw Tickets – to be distributed asap –

11. Xmas Bag Pack – Tesco MW – no news yet!

12. CASC.(Community Amateur Sports Clubs) Gift Aid on Donations -  Sec. & George to discus ways of involving some junior players as a project + Martin offered help.

13. Winter Jobs Identified -  Many including  –Interior painting –loos & tea room entrance+ doors on veranda,  fencing & styles to repair, wood surround of nets, interior partitions - re align to give access to dedicated gents loo, toilet sisten lid missing –need replacement!. Disinfectant to all shower areas. Drain off all water before Jack Frost strikes! Service work on all mowers required.

14. AGM –By early  Oct  Sec to inform members of any known vacancies from current officials. AGM date –expect around  mid November

 

Numbers attended meeting low – but quality constructive discussion encouraging!!
