  • Balance discussed
  • 6 a sides great success - event raised over £1,000 – thanks goes to those volunteers who worked hard in atrocious condition – final to be played at later date
  • York League Roadshow Mon 25th July– PM to attend – agreed to discuss the following points:  1) Readman Cup to be optional . 2) Current ruling on team with no umpire gives option of a fine or play with 10 men –propose if no ump. then you play with 10men. 3) Start time for all games to be 1.30pm. 4)For Div 5&6 play 40 overs per side - using 5 bowlers

  • Wed 27th July ERVAS meeting @ Pocklington CC to discuss ERCAS & Club Forums future plans

Key Points from LPCC  A.G.M. – 11TH Nov 2010

 

1. Sec. highlighted our successes from 2010 York League Merit Table

·         LPCC No 1. in Overall Merit Table – out of 52 clubs !!

·         Ground Marks – improved from 16th to 8th place this yr.

·          Facilities - came 3rd place behind  Scarborough  & York

·          Won most “Improved Club Award” for 2010

·          Won Div 1. “Sportsmanship Award” from Umpires Association

Plus update given on our many junior successes & new Race Night event. The clubs overall success is due to the many groups of volunteers –inc. tea ladies ,scorers, ground staff, umpires, pavilion cleaners, gardeners, fundraisers, captains & coaches  etc. etc.

Certainly not forgetting our tremendous support from VPs  & Sponsors

 Opportunities to be developed inc. Junior Parents involvement & Events on Hog Roast Day. – ideas please…

           2. Bank Balance up 2k on last yr.

           3.Chairmans Remarks – all involved with the running of  the club were congratulated for their superb efforts during past year. 

           But……, stated that in order to maintain our current successes new volunteers would have to come forward & get more involved as a number of key members were “getting older” !!(no names mentioned!!). A Players Charter referred to.

 Letter to be sent to all players identifying just where they can help & what is involved.

Members were encouraged to come forward to help before being volunteered!!

i.e. Rota to be drawn up to identify to all senior players when they are to attend  junior coaches on a Fri. evening.- just one session per yr. (a little like the Tea Rota)

4.Election of Officers 

Sec. stated just 2 vacancies were reported 1ST & 2ND Team Vice Captains

 Man. Committee confirmed Rich Foster(1ST Team ) & Tom Williamson(2nd team) elected to posts for 2011 season. All other club officials elected on bloc.

  Subsequent vacancy now of Foss League Capt.for 2011 to be circulated to members.

5. Subscriptions 2011 – no changes.

6. Winter Nets – George confirmed Longcroft school venue booked – U.9s &11s to book for MW School Gym- Sec to confirm.

7. Winter Sale –(not players!) LPCC Cricket Clothing on stock to be circulated by Sec.

8. Sponsors 2011- Goodmanham Arms offering sponsorship. Members to advise St Dodd  re any new names as  potential team & ball sponsors.( Suggestions Tom Chambers/Dave Beadle/House Builders.

9. Bag Pack – Sun. 12th Dec at Tesco MW 10 to 4 – ANY VOLUNTEERS!

If no volunteers come forward decided to rota players for 2 hr slots

10. 6 a sides – Phil High & Malc Cartwright to organise Pub Teams of non cricketers.

George Drewery to organise 3 junior 6 a sides for U.11s, U.13s & U.15s

11. Coaches Association – LPCC to fund coaches membership to those who manage regular coaching sessions.

12. York League AGM – LPCC proposals to have 1.00pm starts, reduced overs in lower divisions & restrictions on bowlers max. overs – all failed to be implemented.!

Div .6 to have 20 games per season – revised fixture list therefore to be prepared.

Captains Log – Charles outlined good progress in 1st X1 to date against tough opposition in Div 1. Juniors now well represented in 2nd X1 & results encouraging.  Junior teams going very well.

Junior 6  a sides – Phil identified help req. for U.13 & U.15s on 18th & 25th June

Decision on no. of teams & overs per inns. To be decided.

2009 AGM

( 22 Members present.)

 Treasurers & Secretaries -  reports read & accepted

Chairman’s report outlined 2 key points:

1.Man. Committee will always be pleased to hear of comments from members

- great support to our Monthly members meetings continue, with more members welcome especially players. Young New blood to be encouraged to attend!!

Succession planning vital to maintain stability.

All current officials & volunteers thanked for their hard work over past season

2. Chairman outlined a new process for election of officers that reflects the growth & development of the club and its requirements to be more professional in this area –being fair & reasonable to both the individuals and the club. After much healthy discussion it was agreed members would be informed formally of the new process allowing return of comments prior to an EGM when the new process would be voted on as a rule change to existing.

Election of Officers for 2010 -completed with vacancies outstanding for 2nd Capt.& Sun. Intermediate Capt. (as above changes pending)   Junior Manager/ Coaches to be confirmed at next meeting.

Subscriptions – no change

Fundraising Developments – greater emphasis was to be placed on maximising & developing existing events- ideas discussed. New event supported was a Race Night

(Jo & Rich Foster) & also contact Chris Noble) along with fundraising committee to further explore. All ideas to be worked through at next monthly meeting before 2010 Events Calendar is set.

      Wed. night Foss League -we will be playing in Div 1 after promotion. Final at Woodhouse next Wed. @ 600pm. 

·        3 day coaching event @ LPCC went well until day 3 was called off –due to rain. Car park area now a paddy field! More chalk needed?? –RR

·        Junior Cricket 2009 – all coaches/ managers congratulated on unprecedented successes.

Pavilion Showers – concerns over flooding still relevant – discussion re options on site this Fri.p.m.- (please mop up after use till resolved)

Electricity Account – Concerns over Emersion Heater been left on and main shower water boiler also – Electrician to discuss time controls and options . Main concern that players are leaving the pavilion without checking all is turned off and building secured. Would you leave your 250k house without checking!!

Ground- Sadly players cannot even manage to put out and clear boundary  pegs & also remove slats from Sight Screens after game. (New Sight Screens cost over 2.5K)  Discussions with all teams to take place a.s.a.p by members of Man. Committee re a GENERAL LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY AND CARE – Reminder list to be displayed.

Scorers Control Board – Fault found with control signal –Our old “Idiot Guide” has gone missing…. – new one to be fixed to score box wall. Only those familiar with system to use it – want to learn? please ask

League options 2010- discussed future of our playing in Pock. League & ideas re York Intermediate League – Sec to discuss with league officials

Umpires – Sec. informed all re our concerns expressed ref. clubs with no umpires not forfeiting a player etc. –league to respond as this is a growing problem with ghost umpire names been added to score sheet!!

U.9s –Manager Coach – Still no volunteer has come forward – U.9s therefore may not be playing league fixtures next season – Can you help –Ring 873352 urgently

Birds – Pest control measures to be put in place – metal spikes to be fitted on tops of outdoor nets metal frame work .ASAP. This to safeguard our 5k investment on new batting matting. H&S issues a concern.

Pavilion Security – Pavilion Tea Room Door Lock to be changed – keys to be given to essential users Team Captains & Coaches . Current estimate suggests well over 60 keys exist to Pavilion –given out over past 11 yrs.!!!

New Sightscreens – blown over this week!! –damage to top bar, fence and some insert panels.

Work progressing well in poor building weather conditions –latest photo,s viewed. Additional drainage run started- Score box glass front, awaiting delivery- Internal Tiling in shower rooms well underway- Some internal walls painted - Verandah flooring in- Storeroom ready for shelving. New Ext. doors to be adapted to match existing. All pleased to hear of new livery colours for pavilion –What’s wrong with Pink/Coral !!!  Patio pavers –work started & area prepared for concrete between pavilion and tractor shed. But Snow stopped play!!

All windows now in – Benches ordered via Len Kirby (Recycling Unlimited)  Len pricing up on trestle tables - Boiler to be move into new storeroom. Concreting of Shed floor still to be decided.

6 a side Seniors Comp. –Good discussion held – points mentioned to be forwarded to new  Working party of Damian Sharp/ Darren Moody/Phil High & Malc Cartwright to meet and prep. proposals back for presentation at our Tues 5th March Meeting.

Events Diary for 2009 (see below) discussed in detail and agreed. Note dates/plans  for Sunday Afternoon  Hog  Roast in June (thanks to John Williamson)  & the Dinner Dance in our Pavilion- Sept.

Sight Screens – concern expressed at condition of existing and big costs to replace to one or both – Sec to report back at next meeting. Successful grant to date from EYCC discussed with members.   

Sponsors and Vice Presidents – S.W.& St.D.-reviewing existing and update sponsors list for 2009. Past players to be contacted  for interest as new V.Ps 

Discussed Hog Roast Evening & opportunity of informal opening of extended pavilion. Encouragement to be given to past players to become VPs

Winter (Dec) Newsletter –was well received by all (150) with encouraging comments on content & standard.  A Spring Newsletter will focus strongly on our Juniors

& also forthcoming seasons events.

New Web Site – Tim Nettleton has taken on this role of web manager –prototype now on line and comments very favourable –but needs help with content details before “takeoff”. Opportunities now for Sponsors to have their Company Web sites linked to LPCC Web

January Transfer Window!! – Captain Charles confirmed very hopeful of 1 new player at least for 2009 to be joining us at nets starting Sun March1 @ Longcroft.

Forthcoming 2009 Clubmark Audit demands full list of paid players inc. all legal registration forms are signed and available + CRBs & Self Certification CRBs are completed with appropriate training sessions attended. Designated Junior notice board to be fitted in Pavilion displaying mandatory notices

Sec outlined importance of our paperwork been up to date as the Pavilion Grant could be affected.

Insurance – costs increased due to pavilion extension –expect min £300 more!! – expect to retain current policy. Builders Ins. covers us until new work is completed.
