Londesborough Park Cricket Club News story

RIP - Peter Milne

15 Jan 2016

It is with great sadness that we confirm that Peter Milne passed away on 14th January, aged 69.

Our deepest condolences go to Peter’s devoted family at this sad time; his wife Margaret, sons Robert and Richard, and brother Malcolm.

Not only was Peter a good friend to many of us, he was also the backbone of Londesborough Park Cricket Club for many years, acting as club secretary for more than 40 of them.  There is no doubt that without Peter’s vision, determination, and strength, Londesborough Park Cricket Club would not be in the strong position it is today. It is now one of the most admired clubs in the area when only a few years ago it was struggling to progress with seriously sub-standard facilities. Peter championed all forms of cricket, and especially junior cricket which he saw as the lifeblood of the game in general, and our club in particular. Peter’s commitment and hard work for LPCC will be sadly missed, but more than this he will be missed personally by everyone who had the privilege to know him. Peter was a true friend and gentleman.

Everyone associated with Londesborough Park Cricket Club will do their best to honour Peter’s memory by carrying on the magnificent work he started to keep LPCC in the strong position it is in today.
