It is with great sadness that I have to share with you the news of the passing of Geoff Foster. Geoff was grandfather to James Beevers and father to Rich Foster and Joanne Beevers. He was an ever present figure at the ground and would often be there before many of the players, packed lunch in hand taking his seat at the pavilion waiting for the action to start. Always keen for a chat about the game, he was enormously proud watching Rich or James play, his beaming smile when talking about their success will be sorely missed. He followed Rich all over Yorkshire, watching him playing cricket and football and legend has it saw every wicket and goal, which was a lot of both!! Latterly, he supported James’ successes with bat and ball and I’m sure he would have been very proud to have watched his grandson captain the 1st team this coming season.
