This Weekend LPCC X1 welcomed York 3rd team to 'the park'
Development 11 opening batsmen Ben Shingles stepped up to replace regular opener Phil Stothard who took a week away for fitness training, Skipper Moody now free to play cricket again was back to lead his merry men into battle.
The toss again went to the home team who invited York to bat first.
Joe Shingles impressive form continued claiming both opening batsmen in his opening spell leaving the visitors 36/2.
A 3rd wicket stand of 50 was ended when Kieran got lucky with a very short first delivery which was hit into the batsmen boot and looped to wicket keeper Greg.
Park now bowling with control had good spells from Moody and Beevers. Kieran picked up his 2nd and 3rd wickets. A good run out from the boundary from Rook had the score on 122/6.
Whilst wickets where falling Yorks number 3 Cleminson continued to play positively hitting 5x4's and 5x6's in his total of 78 which was ended by the returning Shingles Joe. Some excellent positive lower order batting and sub standard fielding allowed York to end there innings on 198 at tea.
Parks reply never got started as most of the top order gave there wickets away playing rash shots. 38/6.
Lucas Stephenson(24) showing the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree played positively, well supported by the big blocker K-Breezy until he was judged lbw for a patient 10.
Skipper Moody was in next and swung and missed plenty of times until he was sent packing and was let known by a very outspoken young man at 1st slip.
Joe shingles enjoyed himself striking a effortless 21 not out, Tissiman last man out trying to hit the ball back to Market Weighton.
122 All out, poor performance but take nothing away from York who played well.
