Acomb v Londesborough Park Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 03 May 2014 at 1:30pm
Match was Drawn

Match report This Saturday LPCC 1Xl made the trip to Acomb on a day when the sun was shinning bright. Skipper Moody's day began at 4am when he was rudely awake by a cry off by a senior member. This brought young Harry Gamble into the fold for his 1st team debut and he should be proud of his performance behind the sticks.
Upon the miracle of winning the toss and being caught slightly of guard by this Acomb was invited to bat on a used/hard surface.
An opening stand of 20 was ended with a caught behind by debutant Harry Gamble of the bowling of Darren, next wicket to fall was to the veteran Rich(fittest man in the club) Foster, a partnership of 74 to follow which included 5 dropped catches was ended by Foster.
A Good spell of bowling from new recruit Ryan Curtis was unfortunate not to collect his first wicket for the park, Nathan Saltmer bowled very well at the end of the innings when Acomb was attacking collecting himself his 1st wicket of the year. Acomb ending there 45 overs on 208/5.

After tea Greg Drewery and the laid back Ben Lewis strode to the crease where they was met with good disciplined line and length bowling, Greg soon departed missing a straight one, in came nathan who began to dig in with Ben hitting the occasional bad ball to the boundary, after Ben's eyes lit up and lost his castle in limped former captain Charles Rook. Nathan also losing his middle stump soon after for 12.
Tom Medley came and went with the scoreboard reading 45/4 and things looking very bleak, Steve 'slogger' Dawson and Charlie went on to post a partnership of 91 show great patience and dispatching ball to all parts with great class, Steve Dawson made a very good score of 45 off 62 balls. Charles Rook now running like he wasn't injured was playing with freedom of a man not seen for 7 years and was dispatching the Acomb bowling with some big 6's and a man on a mission, his innings ending on 79 from 82 balls and hitting more 6's than 4's a great knock.
3 more batsmen came and went and it was left to newcomer Ryan and Rich Foster to see out the final over.
LPCC finishing up 177/9 a very good recovery in the middle by Steve and Charlie and if more maturity was shown by others could of been a comfortable win.
