The Britcom sponsored Londesborough Park 1st XI completed the 2017
season with a visit to Dukes Park, Bridlington. Enthusiasm for a game
on the second Saturday in September was at a premium, the team made up
of a mixture of 1st and 2nd XI players.
In short the Park
won the toss, elected to bat and achieved 159 for 9. This proved to be
an underwhelming target for the seasiders who cruised to a 9 wicket win
courtesy of 80 from Leeson and 50 from Dixon.
The final
Harpers man of the match award went the way of Lucas Stephenson and the
club would like to thank the Weighton Wippet for sponsoring the match
ball.
Londesborough Park 1st XI 159-9 (S Edmundson 3-23, S Leeson 3-38) Bridlington 1st XI 160-1 (S Leeson 80, Dixon 50)
Team
selection for the Red Lion sponsored 2nd XI turned out to be a swift
process – no team, no selection, 30 points for Drax. A disappointing
season finally comes to an end.
As ever both senior
teams are grateful to the ground staff, umpires, scorers, tea providers
and all other club members and helpers who have contributed this season
both on and off the pitch.
