Londesborough Park Cricket Club News story

Match Reports for 27th April

28 Apr 2019

On the first day of the new season Londesborough Park 1st XI were due to entertain Osbaldwick at home, but the weather had different ideas. With a mid-morning downpour, and more rain forecast for the remainder of the day, the game was called off.

The 2nd XI had to wait a little later for their game to fall foul of the weather, as they were asked to travel to North Cave. Whilst the inclement weather prevented the game starting on time, it did eventually get started and the Park were invited to bat first, giving young Cameron Hodson his first taste of scoring. Things didn’t start well, and Londesborough quickly found themselves three down on 13-3, mainly due to Charles Parkinson who took 2 wickets for 8 runs in his 6 overs.

Edward Smith (10*) and Mark Tissiman (22*) steadied the ship to 51-3, but the rain finally got the better of everyone and the match was abandoned after only twelve overs had been bowled.

Londesborough Park would like to thank their team Sponsor’s Britcom International and the Red Lion, and match sponsors The Bay Horse Inn and Coles Solicitors.
