Londesborough Park 1st XI travelled to Beverley on Saturday. After winning the toss the captain elected to field, inviting Beverley to set a score. Robert Fish (42) and Will Harrison (43*) top scored with the bat, and Londesborough saw success with the ball; James Beevers bagging 4-41 and Scott Hardwick 2-38. The innings saw Beverley finish on 186-8 thanks to a good all round fielding performance by Londesborough, the highlight being a direct hit run-out by Martin Pearson.

In the face of tight bowling by Beverley the Londesborough batsmen unfortunately struggled to put any substantial partnerships together, and their innings finished on 54 all out. Charles Fish and Jacob Hunter caused most of the damage, sharing 6 wickets between them.

Beverley: 186-8 (Robert Fish 42, Will Harrison 43*, James Beevers 4-41, Scott Hardwick 2-38)

LPCC: 54-10 (Charles Fish 3-19, Jacob Hunter 3-18)

Londesborough’s second team entertained Thorp Arch & Boston Spa. The visitors won the toss and elected to field first. Londesborough posted a respectable score of 161-8, with Phil Jennings contributing 46, Eddie Rook 28 and Chris Roper 22. Michael Cole was the pick of the TABS bowlers with 5-56.

After an extended break for tea, thanks to the British weather, it turned out to be an extremely close match with a nail-biting finish, Londesborough just missing out on the 30-point win as TABS crept across the line with just two balls to spare. Andrew Thornhill (56) and Simon Marriott (26) took the batting honours for TABS.
