Londesborough Park Cricket Club

LPCC made the short trip down the 1079 on Easter Sunday to take part in a Preseason Friendly against Pocklington town CC in temperatures just creeping into double figures. 
With no toss of the coin taking place and skipper Moody wanting to bat first to stay warm it was left to uncle John and nephew James to set the tone for start of what hopefully will be a exciting summer, a 1st wicket stand of 90+ was a good beginning with John departing on 31, with Nathan joining the well set James the score board ticked along nicely, after Nathan, in came all rounder Greg(good at everything) Drewery, another good partnership was ended when James was dismissed on 92(an innings of class and timing). There was still time for 'slogger Dawson' to bludgeon a 7(we'll never hear the end of it).
The parks innings ending on 239/7 from 40 overs a very good session first up. 
After tea skipper Moody handed the ball to the youth of Greg and nathan, some wayward bowling allowed pocklingtons new recruit Anderson and Inns to get their eye in quickly. The introduction of our new leg spinning double bouncer man(taking over from Tom Noble). Ryan Curtis brought to a end the innings of inns after some great field settings from skipper moody. That was about as good as it got for Ryan as left hander Jackson took advantage of the short boundary leg side slogging him for 30 into burnby hall gardens. 
Greg now discovering you get assistance pitching the ball up cleaned the impressive Anderson up and soon after dismissing the man who knows everyone 'Charlie Lamert' for 4 ball duck. 
Ryan replaced by James Beevers who bowled with good accuracy and swing helped reduce the run rate and dismissed Jacksons brief but productive visit to the crease and finishing with a couple of wickets.
The ever fit skipper Moody won the battle of the captains by clean bowling Downey who was trying to hit the ball to the rugby ground and picking up a couple of extra wickets too.
The final wicket taken by Saltmer who was bowling his liquorice allsorts, with pocklington all out for 155(?) 
A product game played in good spirits and everyone contributing on the day.
