Londesborough Park Cricket Club

Sun. 15th June - Yet another great day at the Park - Approx 170 attended to share the fun & company - and of course the Pig!! - & no rain ensured a smooth cool event...
Putting comp. proved the favourite as usual, followed by bowls,chipping( golf balls),& the golden goal target - ready for England s encounter v Louise from Liverpool!!
With footy bunting festooning the area the pavilion veranda gardens took on real colourful display.
The pig after its 9 hr cooking session arrived on time through the woods thanks to John & Jill. Service was swift and efficient for all- and the piggy & crackling was delicious along with breads salads etc etc. Carvers on the day -- John, Sammy & Chris -then various choice of sweets followed - thanks Janet . Bar Steward ( spelt correctly! ) George was kept on his toes with a good trade until food took preference.Arnold of roller fame & seniority  brought along all his growing family to share the fun with the newly arrived baby gracing the park  - we await the family pics by son David. The numerous children attending were disappointed the roller man didn't  do trips round the ground - maybe next time - come on Arnold !!! Good to see so many of our loyal V.P.s enjoying the event....
The afternoon was concluded with a first class & well supported  raffle... we had hoped for some live music but ....
Our usual band of willing helpers (too many or few to name) made the day such a success by its hard work in preparing the venue for action - whether sweeping out the tractor shed, moving furniture in & out, cleaning loos, washing up, hanging bunting it just goes on etc etc etc. - another top class show by lpcc

The event raised £1,400 for club funds .  a fantastic effort all round - don't miss next years!!!!
