Match day 17.
This week the 1Xl made a trip to the nice part of the Selby area, away against Cartlon Towers looking to continue the good form of late. Usual Friday cry off from our ex leader who should know better and the return of lieutenant slogger Dawson.
Skipper Moody unsurprisingly won the toss and asked the home team to bat on a slow looking wicket. 
Skipper Moody and the man who wants to be friends with anyone who is good on a cricket pitch Tissiman took the new ball, the standard first over from the Ginger Anderson- 2 down leg, 2 half trackers, 1 no ball, a wide and 2 snorters to finish, luckily it didn't set the tone for his 12 over stint to come, Moody blowing out of his you know what after 3 overs. Tissiman struck first, knocking the impressive Woffenden'(11)over uprooting the stump(wasn't in properly) in the process, Moody struck next bowling keeper Lister(1) with an excellent leg stump Yorker. The skipper then wanting to try something different(he was knackerd) introduced the man who'll never age Richard Foster and he clean bowled The home team skipper with his first delivery. 
Number 5 who played every shot in the book in his innings of 17 from 16 deliveries was out to a Tissiman slower ball caught by the skipper. A partnership of 46 followed until youngster Saltmer clean bowled opener Darren(great name) Graves for a dogged 42(90)-- maybe he'd been watching the Charles Rook master class DVD on batting for himself? Saltmer bagged his 2nd caught by the 2nd biggest(I'd say biggest) man on the pitch Rhys Duerden diving at point. 
Needing a change of pace Duerden was brought into the attack and claimed himself a wicket caught by a full length, feet of the ground diving catch by Moody(not quite).
Moody replaced Saltmer after his 7 over stint and claimed a run out and 2 cleaned bowled to ensure he gets more wickets than Tissiman this season. 
Carlton Towers all out for 130 in the 42nd over. 
After tea Hanley and Stothard took the new ball, the usual watchful start as both looked to get there feet and technique going, Phil played his usual impressive innings of swotting poor bowling to the boundary until was bowled for 25, Greg 'D' Drewery in at 3 after a sore week away with the Pixi's supported James as he brought up his 50, an impressive partnership and determined not to get out to the generous Carlton bowling of 77 gave LPCC there 6th 30 point win of the season in 29.4 overs. 
A good team performance, against a team who last season was 2 divisions lower and showed the difference in ability.
