Londesborough Park’s 1st XI, sponsored by Britcom International, travelled to Dunnington last Saturday and returned home empty handed having not secured enough runs to trouble the hosts.
Having lost the toss the Park’s 45 over total of 157 for 7 on a wet track was dominated, after a shaky start, by skipper Tom Eagling with 45, supported by Ed Rook, Tom Sowersby and Joe Shingles whilst Adam Dyson with 3 for 35 was the chief wicket taker for Dunnington. In reply the hosts took their time to secure a 5 wicket victory courtesy of an unbeaten 77 from Dan Andrews and 30 not out from Alex Wilson. Ciaran Brooke took the bowling honours for the Park with 4 for 37.
The match ball was kindly sponsored by Keith Price.
Londesborough Park 1st XI 157-7 (T Eagling 45, A Dyson 3-35) Dunnington 2nd XI 161-5 (D Andrews 77 no, A Wilson 30 no, C Brooke 4-37)
The Red Lion sponsored 2nd XI earned respite from its recent run of indifferent form when the home fixture against Castleford seconds fell foul of the inclement weather. The twos have a key fixture this weekend when they entertain Malton & Old Malton who sit just above them in the division.
