Londesborough Park first XI returned to winning ways on Saturday
when they entertained Hemingbrough. Invited to bat first, Hemingbrough lost two
wickets in the second over with only 2 runs on the board, courtesy of two
catches off the bowling of Joe Shingles (4-55). Robert Scarr (29) and Glen
Crouch (21) restored the equilibrium, but Aiden Coulbeck (30*) ran out of
support at the other end when the visitors were finally dismissed on 126.
Londesborough’s reply started steadily and the scoreboard
registered 62 before the wicket of Tom Jennings (23) fell. James Beevers (58)
steered the Park to victory with support from Martin Pearson (18) and Lucas
Stephenson (12*), reaching the required 127 with the loss of only 2 wickets and
with 17 overs to spare.

The second XI travelled just a short distance to Pocklington on
Saturday and posted a below par 126 for the home team to chase. Only Mark
Tissiman (50) and Billy Spruyt (23) made significant contributions whilst Greg
Nesbitt (6-12) ripped through the Park batting line-up.
The result was never really in doubt and Pocklington steered
themselves to victory in the 27th over with the loss of only 3
wickets. Joss Room (67) was the pick of the batsmen.
Londesborough: 126-10 (M Tissiman 50, G Nesbitt 6-12)
