Londesborough Park 1st XI entertained Patrington on Saturday and invited them to bat first having won the toss. Sam Fuller top scored for the visitors with 46. Tom Sowersby (3-39) and Joe Shingles (3-40) saw off the top four batsmen and James Beevers (3-15) and Martin Pearson (2-15) took care of the middle order, Patrington finally being bowled out in the 46th over for 133.

Having 54 overs to chase down the score, Londesborough set about the task steadily. James Beevers (24), Lucas Stephenson (18) and Tom Eagling (23) kept the ‘Park ticking along towards the finish line. But when they found themselves 9 down, thanks to Ian Buss, Matthew Purse and Grant Van Es sharing the wickets between them, it was left to Tom Sowersby (21*) and Joe Shingles (10*) to take control and see Londesborough to victory in the 41st over.

Pat: 133-10 (Sam Fuller 46, James Beevers 3-15, Joe Shingles 3-40, Tom Sowersby 2-39, Martin Pearson 2-25)

The second team travelled to New Earswick and found themselves fielding first in the heat. The home side notched up a respectable 180 thanks to Robin Vitas (61*), Andrew James (61) and Chris Smith (25). After losing two partners early, young Londesborough opener Toby Williamson (29) was then joined by captain Steve Dawson. They developed a valuable third wicket partnership between them, which put Londesborough on track at the half-way point of the innings. However, after Williamson was dislodged a few more dismissals followed, and when Dawson fell on 82 the Londesborough charge ended 45 runs short.

New Earswick: 180-5 (Robin Vitas 61*, Andrew James 61, Chris Smith 25)

LPCC: 145-10 (Toby Williamson 29, Steve Dawson 82, Paul Stimpson 4-31)

The Foss Evening League team continued their winning streak on Wednesday night, moving to third in the table with an impressive win over Heworth Colts. Heworth batted first and were bowled out for 76, thanks to an impressive bowling performance by the young Londesborough attack. Tom Councell (2-20), Ollie Fiddler (3-25) and Thomas Rook (2-7) did the majority of the damage, and Harry Snelling and Joe Shingles supported with a wicket each. The Londesborough chase was never in doubt, and Toby Williamson (25*) and Steve Dawson (40*) carried them to victory with the loss of just one wicket.
