Londesborough Park 1st XI faced Bridlington on Saturday, inviting the visitors to bat first having won the toss. The opening batsmen settled in at the crease, posting 75 runs before the first wicket fell. Like buses though, three came all at once without the score changing, giving Londesborough a well needed boost. However, despite getting Bridlington eight down in total, they couldn’t prevent the score from creeping up and Bridlington finished on 214 in their 50 overs thanks to 37 from Casey Rudd, 32 from Russell Robinson and 56 from John Major.

The Londesborough batsmen couldn’t manage to get a foothold, thanks to impressive spells of 3-35 from Ben Traves and 5-14 from Thomas Hudson; and were dismissed for 51.

Bridlington: 214-8 (Casey Rudd 37, Russell Robinson 32, John Major 56, Joe Shingles 2-39, James Beevers 2-52, Ben Shingles 2-47)

LPCC: 51-10 (Ben Traves 3-35, Thomas Hudson 5-14)

Londesborough second team travelled to face Duncombe Park this weekend, at their temporary venue at Harome. A short boundary and a lively pitch made the batting entertaining as Londesborough took first knock. Chris Roper (46), Michael Drewery (35) Ollie Rook (28) and Joel Taylor (37) set a great pace, supported by 37 byes, and Londesborough finished on exactly 200 in their allotted overs.

Duncombe Park started slowly, being behind the run rate at drinks, but they picked up the pace after the break and drove the score up to 157-9. Londesborough were unfortunate not to grab the last wicket for the outright win; but walked away with 27 points from a well-deserved winning draw against the Galtres 3 Division champions.

LPCC: 200-7 (Chris Roper 46, Michael Drewery 35, Ollie Rook 28, Joel Taylor 37, A Durrant 3-38)

Duncombe Park: 157-9
